Dear Daughter of Almighty God
James 1:19-21 (ESV)
19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
We should be quick to hear, a good listener to others and to God. When we listen we learn and when God speaks what we learn will be edifying, encouraging, wisdom, help and support. God is worth listening too.
We should be slow to speak making sure that what is being spoken is edifying, encouraging, wisdom, help and support to the person we are talking to. We are not called to judge or condemn.
Slow to anger now how many of us find this easy, but we should work on this as “the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” We need to remember these words when we feel anger rising whether it is towards a stranger, friend or family. We must also be quick to forgive the person who has made us angry.
When we are angry the words that come out are not edifying, encouraging, wisdom, help or support they are normally words that tear down and destroy. We must put these words far away from us and implant the Words of God which will save our soul and others souls as Gods Words minister to them.
Listen for Gods still small voice.
