Dear Daughter of Almighty God
Watch your desires
James 1:12-15 (ESV)
12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
When times are hard it is not always easy to think of yourself as blessed but that is what it says here. We are blessed and will receive the crown of life as that is a promise from God because we love Him. This gives us more to rejoice about, not only do we have God on our side and Gods wisdom (if we have asked for it) but also we are blessed and will receive the crown of life when we are steadfast.
Another reason why we can rejoice is because it is not God tempting us; God is not putting pressure on us. When we are tempted by the devil we can fight him off with the Word of God and he WILL flee from us. Jesus has already won the victory the devil is under our feet so rejoice because you can resist that temptation. Jesus has won the victory but we need to act on it and receive that victory by speaking the Words of God over every situation.
We cannot always blame the devil sometimes it is down to us. It says here we can be lured and enticed by our own desire. We need to be careful what we look at and what we hear because it can trigger a desire in us that is not of God. If we don’t reject that desire from our thoughts straight away it has time to grow and develop in to much more, sin. This scripture says that when sin is fully grown it brings forth death. That death is first spiritual then physical.
Rejoice in all things.
